About the project
The illustration, created for a book project about the garden, home and family stories, conveys a tender family memory of hospitality and thoughtfulness. It is based on the story that the grandfather of the granddaughter, who tells the family stories in the book, always gave every woman who came to visit him a rose picked from the garden.
