AUTHOR'S BOOK "SENSES"
About the project
“Senses” is an author’s artistic and educational book that explores the everyday life of blind and partially sighted people, their perception of the world, and different ways of knowing the environment. The project was created to reduce the gap between sighted and visually impaired people, and to promote dialogue, curiosity, and empathy.
The book is based on conversations with members of the blind and partially sighted community. Eight thematic chapters explore the themes of exclusion, everyday life, sensations, environment, nature, society, imagination, and interconnectedness.
Information is conveyed in several different ways: in large print, Braille, audio interviews, accessible QR codes, and color, linear, and relief illustrations. Such a structure allows the same object or experience to be known through sight, hearing, and touch.
